Arc-Fault Circuuit Protection

My understanding of 210.12 is that all dwelling bedroom outlets must be protected by an arc-fault interrupter. The NEC states "OUTLETS", I take that to mean lighting and receptacle must be on these circuits. Is this the NEC's intent? The inspectors in my area are calling it like that too. Any help out there!!

And smoke detectors.

But you can put a light in a bath tub, go figure.

Some guys have said their local jurisdiction actually disallows the application to smoke detectors. Check with yours.
