They don't know what they are talking about. A GFCI receptacle will work just fine on an AFCI protected circuit.

AFCI breakers have GFPE protection anyways, this is set to detect a ground fault of between 30 and 50 milliamps.

AFCIs are compatible with GFCIs. . There's even a 50ma GFCI function built into the AFCI compared to a 5ma unbalanced current that trips the GFCI.

I've inspected a small number of homes with a sink in the bedroom and a plug within 6 feet of the sink. . The GFCI on an AFCI circuit works fine.

My wife has requested that I relocate my bed to the bathroom or sleep in the tub. Will I then need to install an AFCI and smoke detector in the bathroom? :) Or should I just move into the garage?
