Are certain circuits required to have both arc fault and ground fault protection?

For the most part none are required to have both types of protection. There are situations where an outlet may have both types of protection provided. Like if an outlet that requires GFCI protection were to be placed on a circuit that has outlets requiring AFCI protection.
Just got done reading a post that said in 2014 kitchen receptacles will be required to have AFCI protection as well as any existing GFCI protection requirements.
