I received a letter from the county saying new permits must comply with code on arc fault circuits on residential receps. The last account I had Ga. has not adopted the arc faults on all receps, just the ones in the bedrooms. The letter doesnt say if the compliance is just for bedrooms or if that has changed to all recepts. Does any one know if that has changed for Ga. Also the letter says code must be met for tamper prof recpts. , again I didnt think Ga adopted the code on that yet. Any one from Ga. Help !

Is there not a state number you can call with all this info. In our state it is all thru the depart. of insurance in Raleigh. Surely there is somewhere to call for ga.

tamper proofs were adopted as-is in the '08; as already noted here we're required to use AFCI's per '08 now.

for future reference, questions on these issues can be directed to the GA dept of community affairs.

specifically, you can call john watts @ 404 679 5246; he's a very helpful person.

i'm glad you brought this up because honestly, i'd forgotten all about it. haven't done any new houses in quite some time.
