It's gone the way of the wooly mammoth only much quicker and with a lot more fanfare.

Not worth much when you have to install it next to the panel, about the only scenario that it makes sense is if the loadcenter is full of thin twins.

Manufacturers started to develop them until word got around that the circuit must be AFCI protected.... not just the outlets.

So they shelved the R&D for AFCI receps and made AFCI breakers instead.
