Arc Fault & Tamperproof Rec

I attended a continuing ed class on Nov 8th. The instructor said a petition had been sent to Raleigh NC about the 2008 code changes. They had petitioned to do away with the code change on Arc Fault breakers & tamperproof Receptacles. He said he thought that the petition had been accepted. Does anyone in NC know anythintg about this?

I do not believe they voted on this yet. The arc fault proposal change for the 2008 was suspended until Jan. 1 2009. The powers to be are suppose to vote soon and let us know whether they are going to revert back to the 2005 ruling on the arc faults. The TR must be used as of now however the vote may do away with them also. There is also a vote to be made on the changes to the SE cable being used at 60C to revert back to the use of SE cable at 75C as it was in the "05.

I have not heard of any changes as yet.
