it's here

it's here

It is here, or down here! Safety wear companies are pushing it because there is a requirement to wear it on some jobs.I think it is going to become more common to wear like safety glasses. I still see a lot of people in "hot" gear working without any arc-flash gear, not even safety glasses! The tinted green sheild on the bee suit if you will, is so dark you can not even distinguish colors of wire/phasing!

NFPA 70E will tell you about arc flash gear if im not mistaken. but i cant see how you can work with a helmet with the same tinted lens as a welders helmet. usually when i do hot work i wear saftey glasses or a light tinted arc flash visor, insulated gloves and insulated tools. i hardly wear long sleeve shirts either. practice using tools while wearing insulated gloves. its not as hard as it seems at first after a few times practicing.

The orange tinted one's are better for color differentiation, and there are some of the green shades that are better at it than others.

Remember Polarized Sun glasses ?

Well as Light from our Sun travels forward is omits the light in 360? as it goes forward.

Basically think of polarized as bands of tape on the horizontal and only only direction those knocking out or blocking a lot of Angles of a ray of light.

A welding helmet is polarized in the "X" and then the "Y" direction.

Next time your at the Sun glasses rack and polarized is, there take two pairs and spin one pair to be perpendicular to the other lens it only "blacks out at exactly 180?'s.

Enjoy your Shades...

THe new shields from salisbury have 70% more light transmission than older types, you can tell the difference between white and yellow.
