I have two fused disconnect switches which are being fed from a generator. Do the disconnects need to be provide with an arc flash label.:?
NFPA 70E-2015 Art. 130.5(D) states that electrical equipment that is likely to require examination, adjustment, servicing, maintenance while energized shall be field marked with a label.
So, will these disconnect switches be opened to test for voltage for LOTO? What happens when a fuse is suspected of being bad? Is the switch open and tested for voltage?
You would need a label and PPE for the above.
Very true, but the posting of the information on the electrical equipment is the responsibility of the employer, not the electrical contractor, unless the contract documents require the EC to provide that information.True but OSHA is citing lack of proper PPE via 1910.132 and 70E is a recognized standard.
