Arc Flash Labels

We have a State Inspector stating that the Arc Flash labels need to be located on the outside of the panels. I know Square D send their panels with the Arc Flash Labels on the inside of their door.
I can not find in the code where it actually calls out for this label to be installed on the outside of the panel.
Can you please help with any information.

You can't find it because it is not there. The Inspector has no basis in the NEC for that requirement.

The inside of the door is still outside the panel.

110.16 only requires that the label must "be clearly visible to qualified persons before examination, adjustment, servicing, or maintenance of the equipment."

The labels supplied by equipment manufacturers may possibly not meet the needs of 110.16, which says equipment shall be "field marked".
