I have an existing outdoor switch rack with a 200A bus, 480V, 3 phase, 3 wire and 65kAIC. Presently there are 2-40Hp motors and 2-7.5 Hp motors along with a 30kVA transformer for misc lighting and small loads fed from the switch rack. I am adding 2 more 15Hp motors driven by size 2 combo starters. (Area is Class I Division 2).

Some one in the office mentioned Arc Flash; so my question is, do I need to consider a possible Arc Flash study due the new loads being added?

Yes, Any change would invalidate the existing study.

I would consider and ARC Flash study. Changing anything in the system should involve a new study.
