Has anybody seen a situation where a bank of power factor correction caps on a 480v system which is connected with about 20' of cable, faults and causes an arc flash at the circuit breaker panel feeding the circuit? The box with the PF caps was damaged with signs of arcing but I was surprised by the arc flash at the breaker panel that went along with it. The arc didn't seem to come directly from the breaker either, it looked like the bus conductors upstream of the breaker had a phase to phase arc.
