Arc-flash signage

I would like to know how far some of the cities out there take this requirement. Would a sign simply stating the voltage work? What about DANGER: 480/277VAC or something to that effect? I realize that the code reads "field marked to warn qualified persons of potential arc flash hazards". This seems very strange, since, by definition, qualified personnel already know the risk. Any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance. Sorry, the reference is 2002 NEC art.110.16

Re: Arc-flash signage

As far as I am aware, all that is required is a sign that actually states a potential Arc-Flash hazard exists. For example:

WARNING
Potential Arc-Flash
hazards exist while
working on this
energized equipment

I believe a sign similar to this would be accepted. See the FPN for addition literature on safety signs and labels per ANSI Z535.4-1998. :)

Re: Arc-flash signage

T&B, Ideal, and Brady all have signs that meet the intent of 110.16 and the ANSI sign standard cited as a FPN They cost about $1.25 each
Wording is:
(icon) Warning
Arc Flash Hazard
Appropiate PPE Required
Refer to NFPA 70E
