In the 2008 NEC 110.16 we are only required to have on a panelboard an arc flash warning label warning qualified persons of potential electric arc flash hazards. Does NFPA 70E 2009 or any other standard/code have other requirements to include on this label, such as the correct PPE to wear?
Thanks

Yes, NFPA 70E requires that equipment be field marked with a label containing the available incident energy or required level of PPE. This requirement is located in 130.3(C) of the 2009 NFPA 70E.

70E has the requirement for listing calories or general PPE (i.e. HRC level).

There is no national code that requires you to specifically list what the PPE actually needs to be.

The 2011 NEC has a proposal that would require short circuit ampacity to be written on equipment.
This may impact arc flash PPE as the artificially high SCA written on the equipment (for AIC compliance) will likely make people think the OCPD will operate faster than it truly will and make arc flash PPE calculations artificially low.
Sometimes labeling is not good.
Dangerous for workers!
