Yes, in most cases. the manufacture would have that info.

Kevin it may be easier to find what manufacturer your acorn clamp is and look for info from them.

The "acorn" should be marked with a "DB" or have written "direct burial" if it is suitable for direct burial in the earth or embedded in concrete. This comes from the UL white book 2006 edition.

I thought all acorns were suitable for direct burial but the op wants to know if it is suitable for the CEE. I think

I read the OP to ask if the acorn was suitable for encasement in concrete, which they are if they are marked "DB" or "direct burial".

Here is a quotefrom the UL white book:

Ground clamps and other connectors suitable for use where buried in
earth or embedded in concrete are marked for such use. The marking may
be abbreviated ??DB?? (for ??Direct Burial??).

Here is what UL has to say about clamps used with re-bar.

Clamps intended for use with re-bar are marked with the size of re-bar
with which the clamp is intended to be used.

The problem with this is I have found acorn clamps listed for use with re-bar that didn't have the size of re-bar marked on the clamp.

I got you. The clamp is marked for 5/8 rod so if you have 1/2" rod is that clamp still suitable???? The million dollar question.

I didn't realize if the clamp was list as direct burial that it was also suitable for encasement in concrete-- thanks for that info

I inspected a pool deck steel today and they used acorns, which I have never seen . i guess i will make them show me something about the rebar size also, that is information i did not know about again thanks very much.
