whether it is 20 to 50watts, are they interchangeable?

Which means if catalogue says 20 to 50w lamp; then I would need to use the highest (50w) wattage for energey calcs.

fixture wattage not lamp wattage

fixture wattage not lamp wattage

I believe it?s ashre 90.1 when compiling energy calcs. Watts per sq. ft. you use the input wattage of the fixture, for incandescent if you fixture spec calls for a 20w lamp but the fixture is labeled for up to 50w max you have to base it on the maximum lamp wattage that the fixture is labeled for so for energy calcs. You have to use 50w even with a 20w lamp because the fixtures is labeled for 50w max lamps.

Yes the bases are the same for the different wattage as long as the voltage is the same. MR 16 also come as 120V bulbs but the pins are further apart then the 12V Mr 16.
