Hi,
I am trying to understand the code requirements for exposed terminals. Are exposed terminals allowed, or are covers required? What section of the NEC can I reference?
Thank you,
Mike

What do you mean by exposed? And what kind of terminals are they?

Hi Bob,
Sorry for the confusion. All I mean is that the terminal block isn't covered with a dust cover. I'm not exactly sure what type of terminals they are, but my guess is that they are ring terminals. Hope that helps.
Thank you,
Mike

The NEC allows exposed energized parts, particularly internal to enclosures, there is no general requirement for 'covered' terminations.

Other standards, like NFPA79 and UL508A, may have 'finger safe' requirements.
