Are Type "O" Metal Halide Lamps Required

Type "O" Metal Halide Lamps were listed in 2005 book, 410.73(F)(5)
Are they required in 2011 book? If so where? There is no article
with that number in 2011 book.

Does it matter?

Older open MH fixtures will accept any type of MH bulb. It's wise to use 'open' bulbs in 'open' fixtures, but there's no physical barrier to doing so.

Newer open MH fixtures will allow only the correct bulb to seat properly. You can put the 'open' bulb into a closed fixture.

There have also been other changes to MH fixtures, and their bulbs. The older ones are definitely being replaced, as part of ordinary maintenance.
