I have a questions regarding the classification of roadways within a refinery. Please read on!
Area classification was done for a specific area in a refinery.
NFPA 497 was used to determine the extent of the area classification. Due to large pressures and volumes of the product stream, the original 50'-0" radius x 25'-0" high area and an additional 50'-0" x 2'-0" high area was required to depict the extent of the Class l, Division 2, Groups C & D area.
The additional requirement extends across access roadways within the refinery.
I have been looking for an article that explains that self powered vehicles (both gas powered or electric) are allowed.
Can you please direct me to such an article, if available?
