This is my first post so cut me a little slack,
I understand theres no limitations on length when using 1/2inch flexible conduit but when using 3/8 Armored Cable horizontally through studs does the 6ft rule apply. This is for outlets only, no lights.

Thanks for the help,
Tim

Only 6' rule I see for AC cable is 320.30(D)(3)

(3) Is not more than 1.8 m (6 ft) in length from the last
point of cable support to the point of connection to a
luminaire(s) or other electrical equipment and the cable
and point of connection are within an accessible ceiling.
For the purposes of this section, Type AC cable
fittings shall be permitted as a means of cable support.

Same question Iwire asked, are you asking about 3/8 flex or AC/MC cable?

They all look similar but each is covered by a different area of the code.

3/8 flex does have length limitations, AC and MC cables do not.

thanks for the replys, this is for 3/8in AC-90 14/2.

It may be similar in appearance to 3/8 FMC, but often is smaller diameter then actual FMC - especially 14-2.

3/8 only means something when talking about FMC, otherwise what you have is just 14-2 AC cable. The -90 probably means it contains 90C conductors.
