I would call it a fun zone, myself.:grin:

I don't know that it's anything but a big gun store, which is simply a "B" in the building code.

I started reading in the specs and couldn't find anything but I saw things like fire resistant paint and special fittings where the conduit penetrates the floor.

unless it is a reloading operation with open smokless powder I would think the only thing to have concern with is lead in the air from the firing range if they have one.

the ahj makes the determination (because armory is outside the scope of the code per the notes for 500 -500.1 FPN #1). We did some missle and weapons areas that the gov engineers decided should meet class 1 div 1, but its up to them. Read the specs carefully, they might throw in milspec stuff.
