A client has purchased (20) 2,500 kVA, 35kV: 415Y/240 Volt padmount transformers from China. They all are primary dead-front, loop feed construction, however no loop is being installed, ever. We are specifying TNB dead-break primary hardware. I'm trying to determine the most common practice for applying lighting arrestors and also safely pugging the unused wells:
1) Elbow arrestors on the energized conductors and insulated plugs for the unused bushing wells? Or..
2) Is there some product (arrestor/plug) that can be installed on the unused wells?
