I am doing a job, two storey dwelling with a 400 amp main panel on the side of the building and (2) 225 amp panel installed on each floor. I have a 225 amp breaker for each indoor panel installed in the 400amp outdoor panel at the point where the conductor enter the building. The inspector wants me to install another 225 amp breaker in the inside panel as well refering to act. 225.32. I am saying it does not require according to this article. I need your help here. I really appreciate your help. Thanks alot.

If the 400 amp panel is mounted to the building I don't think 225 applies at all.

If the 400 amp panel is freestanding I believe the inspector is technically correct.
