(B) Securing. Where installed on or across framing members, Type MC cable with four or less conductors sized no larger than 10 AWG, must be secured within 12 in. of every outlet box, junction box, cabinet, or fitting and at intervals not exceeding 6 ft.

my question is if you have a 6 conductor #14 awg mc cable, does this meet the requirements of this section to not be secured within 12 inches of the box as it has more than 4 conductors but isn't #10 ? I have always been told it needed to be more than 4 conductors #10 and larger to meet the 6 ft interval

I believe that the language you posted from 330.30(B) would not require you to secure the cable but 330.30(C) would still require you to support the cable every 6'.

Is there a reason that you can not secure the cable within 12" of the box?
