please explain to me this article. does this article require that a lighting panel have a main breaker or disconnect protecting it, or does it mean something else. I wasn't sure what was meant?! :confused:

I read this article as meaning a panelboard needs to have a main OCD that will in effect denergize the entire panel and protect the supplying conductors. The exception removes this requirement if the supply conductors are protected at their source with an OCD not larger than the rating of the panel they serve.
