WE HAVE A CONTRACTOR WHO IS INSTALLING CABLE TYPE CMR (DATA CABLE 300V) IN CABLE TRAY 600V WITH A DIVIDER. THE TRAY RUNS THRU CLASS 1 DIV.2 AREA.
THE CABLE 2C16 SHIELDED WILL SUPPLY 24VDC TO VARIOUS FIELD FLOW TRANSMITTERS.DOES THIS FALL INTO THE GUILD LINES OF 501.4B3. IS THIS CABLE PERMITTED IN A HAZARDOUS LOCATION.

Please don't use ALL CAPS; it "looks" like you're SHOUTING and makes it harder for the rest of us to read.

If the Type CMR is also rated PLTC or ITC it is acceptable in Division 2. It probably is.

I would not assume that the cable is type PLTC or ITC. All kinds of low voltage and communications cables get tosses into cable trays.

All kinds of low voltage and communications cables are permitted cable trays. They just have to be Type PLTC or ITC rated to be permitted in cable trays in Division 2 locations.

Truthfully, almost any 300V multi-conductor cable can get ITC rating. The only real restriction is that it be listed as being "resistant" to the spread of fire. This class of cable was "invented" by the refiners to get past what was becoming excessive restrictions in Art 725.
