Hello all. I looking to get some clarity on a section of the NEC that just doesn't seem to click. At the end of Article 610.14(E)(2), it states 'For multiple motors on a single crane or hoist, the minimum ampacity of the power supply conductors shall be the nameplate full-load ampere rating of the largest motor or group of motors for any single crane motion, plus 50 percent of the nameplate full-load ampere rating of the next largest motor or group of motors, using that column of Table 610.14(A) that applies to the longest time-rated motor.' Table 610.14(A) relates to ampacities of conductors used with crane or hoist motors. How does Table 610.14(A) apply to Article 610.14(E)(2) when calculation of the motor load is more reliant on the the nameplate motor FLA rather than the ampacity of the conductor?
