Article 620 of the NEC calls for dedicated lighting and receptacle circuits in the elevator machine room and the pit. It does not say what branch they need to be on or even, indeed that they would need to be on the generator.
In a high rise specifically, would this be the case? And if so, are they required to be on Article 700 or 701 and how about were it to be a hospital.
