Article 680 Swimming Pool Bonding

I have a previously installed permanent swimming pool with a metal top edge that has a newly installed metal and fabric enclosure built around it. The new enclosure is grounded by code and has an LPS. A question has arisen if the pool metal edge needs to be bonded to the new enclosure grounding system. I intepret Art 680.26 (B)(7) (v. 2011) to mean as long as the new enclosure is more than 5' from the existing pool, bonding is not required. I am assuming the existing pool and all metal parts associated with it were installed and bonded by code when it was originally installed.

Would it hurt to extend a bonding jumper from two corners of the metal edge to the new enclosure grounding system?

Any feedback will be appreciated and thanks as always to all in the forum.

Can you describe the enclosure you are talking about? Is it some type of fence?

If it meets the distance requirements, I don't believe you are required to bond it, but I also don't think it would hurt anything to bond it either.
