If a fire pump feeder in conduit is run straight through a hand hole in conduit (no breaks) that contains other wiring in violation of NEC? I not sure if it meets the intent of this article. This was a field decision made by the designer after the violation was noted. Originally the conduit enter the common hand hole and wiring was not independent as required. Thanks

Just encase it in a 2" concrete envelope all the way through. The bottom line is, in my opinion, it is in violation. :smile:

Jim,
I assume that this is an outside, underground installation. If so, I see no code issue running the conduit through the handhole.
