Article #? Wells

Hello, I have a few questions that I can’t seem to find the article or # in my 1996 NEC book ( yes I know it’s old). My questions are what are the article or codes for electrical entrance from a well through a concrete basement wall and if a rigid nonmetallic conduit is to be used with a bushing at the riser/ well cap?
My contractor ran a piece of poly water line for the electrical to my well and through my wall. I’m under the belief that this must be a rigid ( grey) nonmetallic pipe through the wall as well as the riser to the well cap with a bushing. I just can’t find it in my NEC book. Please advise and thank you!!

Sincerely Rodney.

Welcome to MH's Rod

Any listed electrical conduit can be run for a well, which certainly beats all the direct burial well wire often seen.

The real consideration i seem to sense in your query is wheather of not the well casing itself would be a GE w/ GEC run to it

The ante' ups in said case

The contractor ran the wrong conduit but if it is just a sleeve for UF cable that is inside the conduit then there is no issue with it.

However, if someone is digging outside, and sees a poly water pipe, then no problem to cut if its in the way, and fix with a compression coupling.

This has not yet been inspected. But with that being said I’ve seen a lots of things not to code but passed by our county inspector. I did see where it states a passing through a foundation or wall must be rigid conduit. I will attach what I found but unable to find the article number, I just want to have my facts straight before open mouth & insert foot.

Sch 80 would be considered rigid conduit....

Schedule 40 pvc is rigid....

Rigid Polyvinyl Chloride Conduit (PVC). A rigid nonmetallic
raceway of circular cross section, with integral or associated
couplings, connectors, and fittings for the installation of electrical
conductors and cables.
