Hi everyone, new to this thread. I have a question that I haven’t been able to get an answer on. I am a journeyman and want to start my own business while still getting the hours needed to take my masters. Can I hire a Master electrician and still get my hours under him?

I suppose you sort of can, on paper you are working for him in the ways that matter to licensing, even though you may be paying the bills and making final decisions.

This may be more likely to happen with a retired or semi retired contractor/master than with one that has some years to go, or someone that has qualifications but been injured/disabled and can't do the work anymore.

In WA a residential ec can hire a journey level electrician and get hours under him towards journey level test
