I think it calculates the impedance of the supply based on a very short high current load and uses that to figure the available short circuit current.

It would have to be able to handle quite a bit of current.

Are you looking for the avaliable fault current or short circuit current?



I was wondering how a tester could/would calculate it. I'm not looking for this for any kind of job. I was referring to short-circuit current.
