Does anyone here follow ASHRAE's code on lighting occupancy sensors? Essentially, commercial spaces over 5,000 sq. feet are required to have occupancy sensors. Do you correct an architect or designer if they do not spec them in?

First ensure that your jurisdiction as adopted that energy code and it hasn't been amended. If either and it still applies, then it depends on your strategy. I would prefer you let them know privately and be their friend (I'm biased). Many people just pound a change order.

Either occupancy sensors, or some other form of automatic off. That could be a relay panel with a time clock.
