ATS sizing

If you have a 100 amp continuous load, is a 100 amp ATS sufficient or is the rating of the ATS required to be sized at 125%?

I’m installing a 48 kw right now with a 200 amp switch, and seems like I read it was limited to 85% or something like that, in the install manual? I was looking to make sure the lugs were rated for aluminum, so didn’t give it that much attention. It was service rated, so that may have been the reason.

I work on this stuff daily and never noticed anything like that. Maybe I missed it but I generally read the books pretty well.
It may have been because it was a service rated switch, because of the main breaker that’s not in a regular T switch. The manual is at the job site, so I can’t look it up until I get back.
