Can anyone tell me why an inspector would call an auto showroom a commercial garage and require MC instead of NMC??
 
There may be other reasons why NMC is not allowed but a showroom does not fall under art. 511 conditions. If it is not allowed make him find the reason and not pick what he thinks is easy. He obviously does not like NM there but needs to find a real reason to not allow it. If autos are not regularly repaired in that room, it is not a commercial garage.

Is it that or is it that the inspector is enforcing the code prohibition of NM above suspended ceilings of non-dwelling units?
