I have 2 old square d 2253H 25 kva transformers and want to configure them to 600/480 which I have done but now I want to calculate the actual kva avalible with this set up.Looked at a Acme cat. and configuring 2 of there transformers of equal kva I`d get around 210 amps. Can someone assist with the info I need to determine kva output.I`m wiring a new textile machine 480 I need 120amp for it alone but have some support equipment so I`m installing a panel and feeding it all with my transformer. Thanks for any assistance.

I did a search on "Square D 2253H" (google) - no hits and "2253H" (SQD site) - no hits. Maybe you could give us the nameplate data.

Also, 25kva or 225kva?

One of the Best sources I use for transformers is :http://ecatalog.squared.com/pubs/El...Non-Ventilated General Purpose/7400HO9501.pdf

According to this (2) 480-120V transformers connected in open delta boost from 480-600V; the final 3-phase kVA = (Total kVA of both units * 5)*.86. So with equally sized transformers the output kVA = 8.6* one unit.

In your case: 25kVA * 8.6 = 215kVA output.
