Autocad 2006 IconTools Replacement

My company used Icontools with AutoCAD 2002, and we are wondering if a
new program with the same features is in production by a different
company, because I am aware McNeel stopped producing Icontools, and
their last release is not compatible with 2006. If anyone knows of any
software that can give me similar functionality for use with AutoCAD
2006, it would be much appreciated.

What exactly did IconTools do ? I use AutoCAD in my profession and am currently on 2006, so I may be able to help you if you tell me what you need to do.

Here's some information I got from the AUG at Autodesk:

"Though it is true that we (Robert McNeel & Associates) no longer sells
IconTOOL, we have ported the IconTOOL engine to AutoCAD 2004/2005 and made
it available to customers free of charge on an as-is basis. If you customer
is interested in obtaining the IconTOOL engine, have them contact me our
technical support staff . Support information is availabe on our web site at
www.mcneel.com"

Perhaps you could give me a contact number for someone at McNeel? I contacted the support department several days ago and they had no knowladge of an update...

We use AutoCad 2005 and we too are looking for some good icon tools. At this point does anyone have a file that could be e-mailed or know of a web location to download from?

Thanks, Steve

Steve:

What specifically are you looking for ? Do you want some blocks for drawings, or LISP routines, or what ?

I can give you plenty of references for blocks that are shareware or freeware and some of the manufacturers provide theirs also. If you Google "Autocad Electrical Symbols" or "Symbol Libraries", you'll get a wealth of information.

Anybody use Design Master for AutoCad? I am looking for a program that makes AutoCad easier to use. I have tried to learn it but am still lost. I want to be able to do our as-builts and layouts for the foreman without paying alot of money to have someone do it for us.
