I had a contractor call me who had a strange question. If a highrise building has automatic doors install through out the entire building would these doors required to be supplied by the emergency system?

Most of those doors have a manually operated break-away design. Therefore, the answer is no. But what about the clearance in front of the electrical outlet feeding the actuator???? LOL.

I'm not talking about a door holder. I asking about a power door opener
Yes and i just recently installed many in a medical supply factory for the air lock systems. To defeet them you removed the 24 volts, that releases lock and you push door open. Also sets off alarm for security desk

marcb, mcdowell,
You said in earlier posts that if you had to test voltage then you must provide the working clearance!
I have never said that an outlet needs working clearance. It appears that you don't know what an outlet is.
