Automatic Transfer Switch

Im working on a project that currently has (2) buildings, fed from (1) 120/240V 1Ø utility service. (1) gen set is on site serving both buildings. The project now needs a separate utility feed to serve building #2, but continue using the existing gen-set. I spoke with an ATS sales rep and he mentioned i would need to go to a 4 pole ATS to separate the neutrals but this doesnt seem right since im only at 2p power. Wouldnt it make more sense to use a 3 pole ATS instead?

I'm guessing he meant 2 phases and and switched neutral, not a 4 pole. Probably just in the habit of thinking of 3 phase systems.
