Is the ats allowed to be in the same room as the utility entry? If yes required to be within site of the point of entry in the building, so that the fire department can shut it off in case of a fire,
If it is not allowed what happens in a fire when the fd comes and shuts all the power to building and the ats kicks in, is there supposto be a sign of some sort
Can anyone clear this up for me

Local requirements withstanding, there is nothing in the NEC prohibiting the TS from being with the service equipment. As far as means of disconnect, see 225.32 and 702.11. For required signage see 702.8
