"Auxilliary" grounding using electrical system?

Hi, I have not been able to find any reference to this anywhere. I want to connect extra ground conductors to the steel outlet boxes in my wood shop, and then later connect those to ground wires wrapping PVC dust collection pipes, to dissipate static charge.

Assuming all the equipment grounds for the electrical power circuits are correct (and the rough-in has already been approved, so they should be), is there anything in NEC that would prohibit running extra grounding wires for a purpose like this?

I'm just at the stage of insulating the exterior walls, and I want to run the extra grounding wires to binding posts on wall plates in a few locations. Then after drywall, I can connect grounding wire to the posts for wrapping the PVC. I can't imagine why this would be a problem, but I would hate to have that mess up the final inspection.

Thanks,
Keith
