Hello all, we have a avtec vent a hood model IUD 120/208 3ph 100 amp
listed appliance outlet center/energy distribution & control system in our cafe kitchen, we are in the process of upgrading this old system which was installed in 1977, it has an ansul fire suppression system.

we are budgeting a new system or possibly upgrading this one, i am asking for opinions and suggestions,

anyone recently install one of these systems, this particular system is in a cafeteria kitchen in a school.

thanks for your suggestions/opinions

Avtec makes (made?) good equipment.

The stainless sheet metal isn't likely to be worn out but after 30 years it and the other internal components are likely to be beat up pretty good.

Call them and ask your specific questions.

thanks Bryan, how much would a system like this cost? any idea?

A lot more than it did 30 years ago. ;)
I don't have access to their pricing.

If the cooking equipment line up is substantially the same as before and the Avtec system is neither too small or too large... it is probably worth the effort to rejuvenate the mechanicals (and the cosmetic) vs the costs of tearing it out and then installing all new.
But only the folks on site can really make that series of decisions.

good advice

Yes, i would agree with that assesment, we will most likely keep it and bring it up to todays code, we are going to replace the exhaust fan, and go thru thing and see how much is still working.

thanks for your opinions, ;)
