Anybody else getting strange behavior when using the Back button on IE6? Sometimes when I enter a folder, look at an unread message and then go back, I loose all unread messages. If I go back in and read another, then go back, all is well.

Re: Back button

I'm experiencing many of the same problems with IE6 but I think it's because I'm running Windows XP on my new computer. I didn't have these problems with my other computer running Windows 98. Some people tell me that XP is not backwards compatable with many programs. I don't know whether that applies here or not.

You can try to go to the Microsoft site and find a fix but PACK A LUNCH......... you'll be there a while.

Thom, I get the same thing, and only on this forum. I run IE6 and XP. It didn't used to do this, and I haven't hacked it out yet.

Re: Back button

Like anything else, it won't do it now.
Thom, what is your COOKIES setting in your browser? That might be the problem.

Cookies are used to track posts that are new since your last visit and also to handle several other features of the forum.

If you feel unsure about accepting all cookies you can do the following - In IE6.x (Internet Explorer 6 Browser) you can override your cookie setting to accept cookies from specific websites that you approve. To do this -

Using the top menu of IE6, click "Tools" then select "Internet Options".

Select the "Privacy" tab and then choose edit from the bottom of that pop-up window.

Enter the following: http://www.mikeholt.com

You will now be able to accept cookies from "this" website which is necessary to navigate this forum.

Re: Back button

My settings do accept cookies. I am Beta testing Windows 2000 SP4, that might have something to do with it. But I am still not having problems on other forums?

Thom: Just for giggles, why don't you try doing a "cookie reset". 1.) Scroll up to top of this page and go to/click on "My Profile". 2.) Go to/click on "Delete All Cookies Set By This Site." 3.) Logoff from forum. 4.)Log back on, making sure you "accept all cookies" prompt(s).
