Back Fed Meter Main

I am looking at a Square D QU12L400SL meter main panel that has space for four 2-pole breakers. I want to back feed a breaker from a photovoltaic system. To comply with NEC 480.36 I need to install a retaining clip or bracket to lock a breaker in place. I can't figure out what part number will solve this for me. The PK2MB does not seem to work in this situation. Maybe there is no solution for this panel. Any ideas?

You do not need a retaining clip for a solar breaker, as it is not technically a back fed breaker. If you remove the breaker from the bus bar it will not have power supplying it any more as the inverter will shut it down.

I know I kind of dumbed that down, but I hope you understand.

Yeah, I realize that a UL1741 inverter will shut down when grid power is lost. Unfortunately, it appears a local inspector is not satisfied. Any resources out there that I can use to help me in my debate with the inspector?

nice research there mac!! would be hard for an inspector to dispute your code reference when it as specific as this one is. Doesnt leave anything for the inspector to interpret as long as he reads and understands the English language eh?!!! WAY TO GO !!

Just when I thought I had section 690 memorized... :)

I forgot about this section because many of my installations do service side taps due to whole house generators.
