I was getting 120 volt back feed from a refrigerator, no short to ground. Tested both 120v. circuit and refrig. But still was finding 120v to ground ???? No idea

Re: Back feed from Refrigerator

your message is not clear.but there are two possible cause for thar.
1.as mention the compressor might be grounded already/partially burned-checked resistance to ground(body as common test point and checked the CRS of the compressor- C as common R as running winding S as starting winding) if you get resistance motor is already grounded and must be replaced even though the motor is running good.
2.Something wrong with electrical wiring-checked the door switch/thermostat/fan motor(if any in the evaporator)those wiring might touch the body or in other words might be grounded.

for your voltage i assume that there is no neutral/ground otherwise when you checked the voltage to earth you will get 120V and 0 (only if the fridge is properly earthed)
