Hello . I failed inspection due to backfed main with out bolt or lock retainer. I repaired storm damaged mast and meter successfully. But the previous contractor apparently removed a bad main breaker and backfed 100 amp main . I ordered a SQ D .QO 100 amp lockdown device and received PK2MB a little plastic horseshoe with a tapper ? I do not see how this device retains the main breaker. Old QO series 7 panel. Maybe it’s the wrong part? Any advice please? Thank you all - Michael MPK Services

You need the correct retainer for your panel, the breaker is immaterial.
The correct locking device screws into the rail holding the breaker. It keeps the breaker from being easily unclipped.

Thank you Jim.. maybe I was expecting it to go from the face of the breaker into the back of the panel, it is possible that it is going “sideways “ into the left rail on the back lug side of the main breaker. I will take another look

In some older sq d panels the holdown kit can only go on certain slots. The label on the panel will give you the part number
