has anyone installed a b u generator for a resturant? i need to know the rules for operating the business on generator power in the event a power loss. i am sure the smoke alarms and ansul system would have to be operationable. its a 400 amp 3 phase 240 volt service. we plan on using a 45 kw gen , enough to operate equipment to stay open. they lost power atleast 3 times in a year. the last power loss lasted 2 full days.

thanks for any help

You essentially need to power everything in the whole place then? I honestly don't think the owners have any clue how unbelievably expensive that's going to be. They might be better off with an inlet, transfer equipment, and a contract with a rental company.
