i have a class 1 div 2 area that has ex proof incandison light fixtures. what is a good way to put in emergency lights ? the panel is in a non haszard area.

Emergency rated inverter/ATS mounted by the panel for all or part of the lighting circuit. They even have little one's now that do a great job:
