Is your typical farm barn allowed to be wired with romex or does it all have to be uf because its not considered weather-tight?

We have a excemption for 40 acres or more, agriculture use, no inspections

But I use MC cable because of rats

This barn will have no sheetrock. Its not for livestock.
It will be used for making wine on a grape farm.
I will be installing 6 peices of equipment fed from a 3 phase digital converter.
All equipment is cord and plug.

Another question. Im looking at my nec cd rom right now to see if I need a disconnect at each outlet or is the breaker back at the panel enough.

If the equipment is cord and plug, that is your disconnect.

Where is the panel? Never mind I think I misunderstood.

Careful now, seems your getting into "food" preparation which might require alot more than romex.

I would think the Health Department, and your State Alcohol Board would be very interested in the barn...

* granted I used "food" when I should have said spirits. Jesus made do with a couple loafs and a few fish and wine, but in my opinon your falling way short.

Machine Disconnects are all to be with-in sight or lockable (per device)

Forget the CD for a moment and USE your active code and read all the Disconnecting means (in the Index) that might apply to your barn and equipment. JMO

Also their is an existing single phase panel in the barn. I will be bringing a new 200 amp service to the barn. Their is a feeder to the existing panel in the barn. I will have to feed the existing panel from the 3 ph panel I will be setting from the digital converter.
I know I will have to set a service disc 200a but it will prob be a main breaker enclosure because I cant get a feeder breaker larger than a 125a to feed the digital 3 ph converter and the manufactuer requires 175a minimum input.

After a quick search of my favorite search engine I came up with this page
Here from this page here . All about maryland wine and the first here is who's in control. The Second is jsut a total list of all found from a search of - maryland laws "wine".

if the building is being used to make alcoholic beverages I believe it is call a brewery not a barn..unless you are housing farm animals...then I may question the wine..

Not sure about wine but when the beer we made as adolescents blew up and stuck glass shards into the sides of Mom's cabinets, I would suggest sch40 at least.

Or "Robroy" so you can clean up the mess !!!
