Barriers for transmitters application.

1) Panel is mounted is safe area but transmitters are in hazardous area. panel is rated for ip65. Panel and transmitters all are mounted in same skid(4*8M) but as per area classification 1 metre surrounding of Pressure control valve is called as hazardous area and transmitters . barriers are rated for atex intrinsically safe.

Barriers are required for limiting the power(limiting the current) to avoid accident in hazardous area. But what is the use of providing barrier for this like application. how the areas are classified for zone 2 iib application. what is the calculation inside of 1 metre of PCV.

We do not much use the Atex zone system here in the US, so it may be hard to get a good answer on this forum to this question.
